PENGYU CHEN

'Pengyu  means sea turtle in some languages. I live on a small island “Liuqiu”, a  sea turtle hotspot, which recently became a very popular, busy tourist  attraction. Why not create a place where people can share what they see  underwater and talk about oceans? That’s why I opened the “Linger  Bookstore” at Liuqiu. Since there are more and more young people who  want to do ocean related business moving to Liuqiu, I start to organize  speeches and encourage them to coordinate voluntary activities to  promote sea turtle conservation. I also assist researchers who come to  Liuqiu periodically studying sea turtles. From aerial images, we  recognized more than 800 sea turtles swimming around Liuqiu. Crowds can  appreciate this about Liuqiu, instead of expecting ordinary tourism  attractions that aren't compatible with conservation.'
